Short Description: This discusses the synthesis that has recently been reported by the National Academy of Sciences, that follows from earlier realization that carbon dioxide from fossil fuel burning will be around for more than 1000 years. It accumulates. We estimate that we have to keep our accumulated emissions to less than 1 trillion tons to stay under 2 degrees Celcius average warming.
