Short Description: This blog is the third in a thread about climate models. It specifically address an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal about can we predict the climate if we can't predict the weather for more than a few days? A metaphor is introduced, trying to predict the waves on the surface of the ocean. It's hard to predict each individual wave, but if the wind increases you can be pretty sure that the wave sizes will increase and the water will wash farther up the shore. This is also a blog about mixing belief and what we want to conclude.
